Living our new community

We have managed to have several adventures in our short time here in NC, but only a few that I have remembered to both bring my camera AND take pictures.

We spent a Sunday afternoon at the Morehead Planetarium on the UNC campus.  Very cool movies (you know the planetarium kind, with the big round screen above and around you) and the exhibits seemed cool, but we need to go back to really explore.  They were closed when we got there, so we wisely used our extra 15 minutes to take some photos...

Of course, the first place I decided to invest much of our time in North Carolina was our local public library (which has electric car charging spots, making it everything that I wanted our library in Kansas to be).  They have been having a really nice summer program going with lots of activities.  Our second week attending events there, Stephanie met a sweet little girl that she immediately liked.  Luckily for me, her mother is fun to hang out with and we have had a few really nice play dates.  Mostly we have just been letting them hang out after library events, but we did have a legitimately planned play date to Pullen Park in Raleigh late this week.  The park was great- free entry with great playgrounds, and a few activities that required tickets- a kiddie boat ride, train around the park, and a genuine carousel.  I love places like this, it reminds me of Deanna Rose Farmstead we frequented last summer.  You get to come and go as you please, enjoy many of the options at no cost, and then choose some cool additional activities that are worth it for you.  They also had pedal boats, and I wouldn't mind getting Kevin out there some weekend to enjoy them.

The car charging area near Pullen Park!  I have never seen such so many Leafs (or would that be Leaves) in one spot!
