Wheels

Tonight the Morehead Planetarium hosted a special visit by Colonel Douglas "Wheels" Wheelock, bona fide astronaut.  He gave a speech, showed pictures and videos of his time in space and answered questions.  He was a very good speaker.  I would say his talk was mostly aimed at inspiring the pre-teen age group, but was really very interesting to the whole audience.  I feel like, as a family, we know a bit more about space than your average family, thanks to our time spent at the Morehead, but he really blew us away with what water does in space.  Seriously... find a YouTube video!
On a side note, last week at the Museum of Life and Science, Stephanie did a science experiment about space.  The first question the host of the experiment asked was, "What do you find in space?", to which Stephanie started rattling off all sorts of things, starting with asteroids.  It was pretty hysterical, especially the way they just stared at her for a second.  At least we know that the space birthday party wasn't just a passing interest.
Gwennie was a bit under the weather, I'm afraid, but at least that meant she just laid on top of Kevin the whole time half asleep.  She spent the day not eating much and clinging to me, so I suspected she didn't feel well, but I was sure by the time we got to the auditorium that she was ill.  Hopefully all will be better tomorrow for her!
Before the show!
