Easter 2018

Now that I am gainfully employed, spending Easter in NJ wouldn't work- too far to drive for a long weekend. Gwen also had her first t-ball practice on the Saturday before Easter (making our long weekend far less long). Also, my parents generously volunteered to watch the kids the week following Easter since that was Stephanie's spring break and I had to work. Gwen could have stayed with us, since she has daycare, but Mom and Dad wanted her too. I'd love to tell you about the great time Kevin and I had without the kids, but it was both time to do taxes and the end of the third quarter for my school, so I got to work on 1040s and report cards, while Kevin got overwhelmed at work and worked late every night.
Anyway, back to the reason I started this post: Easter (well, specifically Easter photos)... We went to church in Tappahannock, arriving respectably early so that we could get seats. Not a problem at the Catholic Church in Tappahannock Va. It was full, but not jammed in the way that we have come to expect for Easter. Then we went over to the river house, where Tasha and Whitney had a big brunch prepared. They also did an Easter egg hunt for the kids, and we brought confetti eggs. It was a somewhat chilly gray day, but by late in the afternoon, the weather had turned around to be pleasant.

The egg hunt: Ready. set...
GO!

And then I spent my time arranging the Adirondack chairs for photos.

And went down to the river.

And then back to the chairs...

Tasha took the family pictures, which I LOVE!

And confetti eggs...

The kids had a blast- and they loved their week at Grandma's!
